One Tool I can't Live Without

I constantly find myself reaching for my Scallop Edge Punch - it seems to have become the one tool I can't live without.

It adds a super quick bit of prettiness to any project.

My sister & I had a book covering afternoon on Sunday & this year I decided to keep it super simple.

Covering books is a great project for using up papers that have been sitting for a year...you know the ones that you always intended to use, but never got around to LOL! In this case I've used some of my retired Stampin' Up! papers from last year - it's a good feeling to be using up old stuff :o)

In previous years I've gone all out & had the name & subject in stickers or stamps, but this year I was running low on supplies & time, so I delved into my digital scrapbooking brushes & just whipped up some labels - such a time saver - but nowhere near as cute!

Whats Your Favourite Craft Tool?

Do you have a favourite craft tool??

2 years ago I would've said my craft knife was the hands-down favourite - I used to fussy cut practically every piece of paper that passed my desk.

But now-a-days, as my style has changed, and for those who have been reading for a while will have noticed - my whole product range has changed - my favourites now change quite frequently & the current favourite is my Stampin Up! Slit Punch.

This unassuming little punch is deceptively versatile.

If you received my 12 Weeks of Christmas Newsletter this week, you'll see how I used it the usual way in the project, but you can also use the punch to create scallops.

Check out these samples from the Summer Mini Launch....I've taken a 2" strip & created scallops - but in these samples I have actually used the reverse of the scallop - pretty cute huh?

 

It seems I prefer the negative scallop to the full one - isn't that funny!

The Versatile Crop-a-Dile

The Cropadile is an all in one tool for punching & setting eyelets.

It's also fabulous for punching through thick material like chipboard, CDs, leather etc

But a cute little feature of this tool is that it can also add interest to your projects with a little dry embossing.

In this example I've punched out this cute tag with the  Scallop Circle Punch & the 1 3/8" Circle Punch & then dry embossed each scallop with the crop-a-dile - cute, yes?
