New In Color - Peach Parfait

I'm a big fan of Pumpkin Pie, so I didn't really see the need for another shade of orange, but this one is just right for the times when Pumpkin Pie is too hhhmmmmm what's the word?....happy?

Peach Parfait is a shade of glad vs happy if that makes sense LOL!

New In Color - Pear Pizzazz

This one is quite close to Certainly Celery - just a little deeper...actually I just completed a baby album which used Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze & So Saffron & Certainly Celery...I think the Pear Pizzazz would be great in a baby album...not new born, but a couple of months old - you know when they get to the roley poley stage - so cute!!

So, for this set of cards I've used the Pear Pizzazz with Concord Crush...an unlikely pairing at first thought, but I quite like how it turned out:

I have once again used the Perfect Punches Stamp Set, and you will have noticed the Scallop Trim Border Punch getting a bit of a work out too.

The "friends" was stamped using Calendar Alphabet & Numbers & cut individually & yes, the Vintage Wallpaper came out ot play as well :o)

Birthday Layout

I was on a bit of a roll with spritzing the tissue wrap, so I made some other poppies.

You can see one spiral flower & for the other flowers I have just used my 1 3/8" Circle Punch & my 1" Circle Punch & layered them together. I have 4 layers of each size.

To make sure the tissue wrap didn't get stuck in my punch (lighter papers tend to do this) I added a layer of plain paper to the mix before punching.

This photo was from Taiga's birthday last year...time flies!

You can see my brayer got another work out ;o)

And I've added some rhinestone brads along with a large flower brad to finish the flowers off.

I can't resist adding journaling to my pages, so I was thrilled when the Top Note Die was released in the Autumn/Winter mini catalogue - it's just the right size for one of my little stories ;o)

I've finally Scrapbooked the Wedding Photo!

Well, the overwhelming favourite photo was the brides & bridesmaids...unfortunately my scrapping mojo had been missing - but she's back with a vengeance & I have finally scrapped the photo.

I dug into some of my old stash & cracked out some paints & just had fun...and this is what I came up with.

My sister LOVEs it & wants it to go in her album...good luck with that sis LOL!

My Stampin' Up! Brayer definitely came in handy & I just used the edge of my Real Red stamp pad to to create my "photo corner"...so easy & fun!

It feels good to be back!

I've got a bunch of photos cut & ready to go & I've been sketching, so I'm going to roll with it :o)

Winter Olympic Inspiration

With the 2010 Winter Olympics now in full swing I was inspired to create a card to salute our team of Kiwis over there.

I got the black & white inspiration from the Olympian's uniforms, then the fern from the Organic Grace stamp set creating a backdrop for red, white & blue and the star (punched with the Small Star Punch)to represent our flag.

One Tool I can't Live Without

I constantly find myself reaching for my Scallop Edge Punch - it seems to have become the one tool I can't live without.

It adds a super quick bit of prettiness to any project.

My sister & I had a book covering afternoon on Sunday & this year I decided to keep it super simple.

Covering books is a great project for using up papers that have been sitting for a year...you know the ones that you always intended to use, but never got around to LOL! In this case I've used some of my retired Stampin' Up! papers from last year - it's a good feeling to be using up old stuff :o)

In previous years I've gone all out & had the name & subject in stickers or stamps, but this year I was running low on supplies & time, so I delved into my digital scrapbooking brushes & just whipped up some labels - such a time saver - but nowhere near as cute!

Fortunately I had the Scallop Edge punch on hand to pretty it up.

Friends Forever Layout

Lianne & the girls from Scrapbook Studio were at the Sketchbook Retreat & I saw Lianne working on a cool layout - she said it was using the Scrapbook Studio sketch.

So I got a copy of the sketch & this is what I came up with:

These photos were taken two years ago!!

It's quite funny, before we headed of to the retreat Heidi was showing me some of her latest creations & she had scrapped these pics recently - and it just so happened that I had these copies in my mix of photos at the retreat.

There's those Bright Delight Rub-ons again LOL - would you believe I have actually only used one sheet out of the pack so far?? Pretty good aye! They go a long way.

The title comes from the Summer Love Rub-ons (out of the Spring Mini) and of course I've used the Great Friend set again & you guessed it ... Corduroy Brads, not to mention my ever-present Scallop Edge Punch...and the Walk in the Park papers.
