A lady walks into the personnel office of a multi-national corporation and says to the HR manager “I’ve decided to come & work for your company, but there are a few things we need to get clear before I start.”
“Firstly, I will only be working a couple of days a week & when I do, it’ll only be for a few hours at a time.”
“Next, my family comes first, so I’ll need time away for Christmas, Easter or school holidays – I don’t expect to have to ask for it or apply for leave either. Also, if a family emergency arises my work will go on the back burner until things settle down.”
“As a rep for your company I will do my best to sell our products, but I do expect the company to provide incentives & rewards for my customers when they purchase. Also, I would like the incentives to be regularly updated to keep up the excitement & motivation.”
“With regards to my wages, I would like a percentage of everything I sell. Let’s say 20%, plus bonuses if I meet expectations. I would also like a variety of awards, like gifts & prizes just for doing my job.”
“One last thing, if I do decide to become a manager with the company, I will expect additional bonuses paid to me on my sales & all the sales of my team.”
The personnel manager was in fits of laughter by this time, but he managed to say, “Lady I don’t know what planet you’re from, but there’s no such job in the world like the one you’ve just described!”
She calmly replied,” I beg to differ. My friend has just joined a party plan company and that’s exactly the kind of job she has”
